When human detoxification systems are working properly, the body is able to take care of itself, all we need to do is to help it do its job. No special fasting, dieting or colon cleansing is necessary for that. All you need to do is simply to make several minor changes in your lifestyle.

There are FEW pillars needed for natural detox: Fiber, Exercise, Water.

1. Fiber is cleansing your gastrointestinal tract, improves digestion and increases the speed your body gets rid of its wastes. It reduces blood cholesterol and stabilizes sugar levels, improves absorption of calcium, iron and magnesium, it bonds with toxins in your colon and removes them from your organism.

Foods rich in fiber: all fresh fruit and vegetables, non-processed grains, brown rice, whole wheat, oatmeal. You can also buy some grain bran and add it into every meal you cook - several tablespoons. It has no taste, so you won't even feel it in your food. But you will get your daily dose of fiber that is so important for your health.

My personal recipe for natural, yet more intense cleansing of your colon is as follows: eat three tablespoons of bran with a glass or two of water two times a day 30 minutes before meal. Do it for one month, this will improve your digestion, relieve allergy symptoms, clear your skin. Note that fiber-rich diet requires lots, LOTS of water.

2. Exercising is essential for detoxification. It stimulates sweating and improves elimination of toxins through your skin. It also increases your metabolism and helps you burn fat, together with the toxins, as they are mostly accumulated in our fat cells.

3. Water is the most important ingredient in our daily diet. It doesn't have to be water, though, any fluid: tea, juice, sparkling water. Drink a glass every one-two hours. You can even use a timer to remind you. Leave bottles everywhere: at work, in the car, in your bedroom, by the TV. Always have a bottle with you wherever you go. If you drink water only when thirsty, it's too late. You need to drink before you get thirsty. Make it a habit to drink lots of fluids.

  • Stop smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages, as they are the main source of toxins for most of us.


  • Prefer using natural fabrics, body care products and household items, with minimal added chemicals.
